Hi Ripley! I just saw this today. Have not been on the site a frequently as I used to. Have had many major hurdles and decisions that absorbed a great deal of my time. AND disturbing revelations about medical issues, so have had a lot on my mind and soul...

Flexeril is the the only med specifically for the fibromyalgia. I've done research that supports my decision to not take certain meds often considered for this nasty pain syndrome. Specifically amitryptiline, which I had been on in conjunction with flexeril, decades ago, but had to stop using due to intolerable side effects. Now that I have central and peripheral nervous system problems, which include demyelination, and stage 4 glaucoma in left eye (lesser degree in right eye), flexeril is contraindicated. I'm having a conversation with my extensive medical team about that, most especially the various neurologists and rheumatologists. If I have to choose between more rapidly fading vision (leading to NO vision) and body pain, I'd rather be able to see.

As with you, I can't take gabapentin. Horrid effects. And yet so many doctors within various disciplines prescribe it. No thanks.

As already posted, Aleve helps, taken only when absolutely needed. And heat pads.
Resting also, although I do find that making myself get up and MOVE actually can help. Besides, I'm such an A+++ personality type that I become antsy and anxious just thinking about what most needs attention. Make a priority list. DOES help.

Hope you've had a less painful summer, and that the coming months don't have fibromyalgia pain etched in the calendar! 🍁🍂
