Chronic pain and medical marijuana
A nurse friend tried me on marijuana oil smoked in an electronic pen since nothing works with my pain under everything pain management has tried. I did not respond - can one be immune to it as I am with all procedures on my back and all pain relievers

I was just approved for medical marijuana here in Florida, and I am so excited! I am really eager to give it a chance before I go to a pain-management specialist. The doctor I saw was delightful. Not only was he a doctor, but he was also a dentist, so he knows a LOT about TMJ pain, from which I suffer. He's currently doing a lot of work with hospice care. He was so kind and knowledgeable. Unlike the nutty physical therapist I had the non-pleasure to go to, this doctor asked questions, listened to me, and answered my questions. Based on the forms I'd filled out and my answers to his questions, he thinks that MM will help me a lot.
Now, because of the "wisdom" of the FL legislature (which will do anything to discourage one from taking MM, but will brand you as an opioid addict if you take pain meds), I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks before I'm issued my Official Card so that I can buy Official MM from one of the three dispensaries in town. So, in the meantime, I'm cutting my Tylenol + codeine and Flexeril (muscle relaxer) pills in half, in hopes that they'll get me through the next 6 to 8 weeks.
I'll be sure to let you know how the MM works.

MY platelets were down to 12. My Hematologist prescribed Promacta raising platelets to 100+.
@JustinMcClanahan Hi Justin, you included me in this but if I did contribute at some point it would have just been a comment, I have never used MM. Also, thankfully I do not have chronic pain. Thanks for thinking of me though when you included people whom you thought might like to be involved in the discussion.

@cappysmith My goodness, 12! When mine went down to the 40s I thought that was terrible. Now, post transplant, they are still lower than the desired range, this post week my lab work showed them to be 106. I was supposed to have knee surgery a few years ago, my platelets were running low so my hematologist put me on prednisone to bring the count up. It did, but then on the day of surgery they plummeted again so the surgeon had to call the surgery off. I am finally scheduled to have that surgery in October.

Since the cease and desist orders, all of my dispensaries in this unincorporated area have gone to delivery only. There will be legislation to regulate the sale and distribution of MM on the ballot in 2018. It appears that the regulation is motivated by the desire of the county to collect taxes. Follow the $$$$$.
JK,

@JustinMcClanahan not a problem, I just wanted you to know why I was not contributing to the conversation.

thank you for your note to me. now i am in pain in the right hand and it's fingers, left elbow, knees, feet, etc. this time only the fingers are swollen. it all started with hurricane IRMA. irma left but i still have the pain. thank goodness after 6 days with no electric and no oxygen machine the electric is on. ahhh, it can be good anyway. the ac is working, good, good, good.
hazel, i think it all depends on what medical medication STOCK the doctors placed their money into. they will steer you into what benefits their pocketbooks. (not all doctors of course). sorry to take so long in responding as i had no electric till now. thank you hurricane IRMA. at last i can now use the oxygen machine again. and i was lucky to find gas after waiting an hour in line. but it is getting better. THANK ALL OF THE LINEMEN AND VOLUNTEERS. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. peach
