Comments about CBD and/or THC for neuropathy pain and paresthesia?
Anyone tried CBD topically or THC gummies or anything on that order for the burning radiating pain of neuropathy? Also has anyone had a neurologist suggest this as a potential therapy? I will ask my own neurologist but wanted some broader input in the meantime. Success anyone? My family thinks this should be considered. I have tried various topical and oral prescribed medications with little success so far. Thanks for any comments.

We are looking to move to Colorado Springs when we come back from Germany been stationed there for four years. The only was medical marijuana will be legal is if we did away with Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott. I mean vote them out. Some cities are trying to legalize marijuana on their own and Attorney General Ken Paxton is taking them to court our Constitution does not allow us to get signatures and then put it on the ballot. I would buy my own marijuana. Make my own edibles. A lot of edibles are processed with butane which is a form of alcohol.
I have over 50 different drug allergies. It was really frustrating for the doctors when I got bacterial spinal meningitis to find an antibiotic without sulfa that I could tolerate. I had IV antibiotics for three months then oral for three months.
I do not. I got this pacemaker years ago before my neuropathy developed. My neuropathy was brought on by chemo treatments for cancer.
My late husband was able to achieve pain relief with medical marijuana. I only wish we had gone that route earlier. NO side effects. A grandson explained to me, there are some that give you a ‘high’ or pep you up and some that relax you. Not sure the scientific explanation. I just know that when the neuropathy and back pain were severe he this gave him some relief. I recommend you try it.
They will not put it in once y9u are diagnosed with cardiac autonomic neuropath. If you read up on CAN once diagnosed you are given eight years left to live. I never had heart problems before requiring a pacemaker or ICD.
I have had neuropathy for 25+ years starting slowly from one toe. I use CBD cream for awhile and then stopped. When I stopped so many narcotics and the severe pain returned, I tried CBD again. It works well for a few hours. I order it over the Internet from R&R. It’s expensive at over $100 a tube but it’s the strongest I found at 5,000mg Broad Spectrum.
I have used CBD topically for nerve pain that wakes me up in the heel of my feet. Topically this worked wonders. It relieved the pain so I could go back to sleep. I also take a Gummie to help me fall asleep. With the gummie and mellatonin I have been able to stop my nightime gabapentin.
Hi! I, like everyone on here, have tried supplements, Gabapentin and cymbalta. Nothing seemed to help though. Went to about 6 different doctors, had cortisone shots in spine and left knee. Years ago I even tried stem cell replacement and PRP shots. Nothing helped until one doctor prescribed Tramadol, which took the edge off the pain.
A few weeks ago, I had a long conversation with the owner of a CBD company. It is legal in my state and the doctor I’ve been seeing for about 6 months said to be sure that it’s tested and pure because like supplements, you never know what is in it.
Checked everything out, got my doctor’s blessing and it’s like a miracle. The pain disappears! I’m 85 and still driving so I don’t take any CBD unless I know I’m home for the day!
I’ve found very helpful information on this site and am now looking into a spinal cord stimulator and the Scrambler which I just saw on here Friday or Saturday.
Will let you know if either of those work. Thanks to everyone who contributes on this site!
Thank you for your heloful response.
I’m suffering for autonomic neuropathy. My symptoms are horrible and they seem to bounce around my body like a popcorn and a popcorn fryer try myalgia because of it which is pretty most painful thing I’ve ever ever had. I take roughly on average 15 to 1800 mg of gabapentin every day And I smoke tons of marijuana and it helps. It definitely helps plainly if you’re new to it. I wouldn’t go around driving a car. I’ve been smoking for years once diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy, I tend to smoke all the time I have no problem doing that. I have a problem with pain to do whatever it takes and yes, I know my lifespan is limited probably have 5 to 7 years not quite what I expected my parents live into their 90s And I am 67
I am 62 and it’s annoying been living with it since 2002 after I had bacterial spinal meningitis I had severe nerve damage.
I am allergic to over 50 different medications and asthmatic. I am allergic to neurotin and lyrica. Being asthmatic I can’t smoke marijuana also Texas is a non medical marijuana state. 1% marijuana does nothing to you nor does it fix the symptoms. Neuropathy can cause seizures which I have. I have nerve pain in my ribs and breast. Sometimes I just want to scream. That does not help.
I bit myself the other day I was in so much nerve pain without any relief. Those that can take neurotin, lyrics and medical marijuana are lucky compared to those that can’t.
We are looking at moving to Colorado Springs when we come back from Germany. Currently, we are from Texas but stationed in Germany for the last five years. As far as I am concerned we can live in Colorado Springs or Oklahoma. Maybe, some other locations. My parents and sisters along with my adult children live in Texas.
