Chronic pain and medical marijuana

Posted by ladyjane85 @ladyjane85, Jul 16, 2016

A nurse friend tried me on marijuana oil smoked in an electronic pen since nothing works with my pain under everything pain management has tried. I did not respond - can one be immune to it as I am with all procedures on my back and all pain relievers

@19lin that's interesting. We use PGx testing and our patients in Illinois have had no copays so far. Genetic testing has changed so much in just 1 years time. I to am very interested in the knee procedure. I have heard both pros and cons.

Having epilepsy all my life, I have seen and studied factors from marijuana use for seizures as well as chronic pain. One thing that has remained in my mind is "that if it is used by people over 50 years of age; several studies have indicated that you will more likely face some form of emotional, psychological, or other deterioration through the brain." The reason pointed out was that, with age our bodies slow down in growth factors; per age the brain is also said to become smaller in size. Per ones individual system, "I wouldn't take a chance at using marijuana at above 50 years of age. Look at it another way, if chemo can cause heart and kidney problems 5 or more years after use--is it worth taking a chance? It's a personal decision that should be examined thoroughly.

I have taken high doses of Tylenol and had blood in my urine the next day. I went into the ER but fortunately the doctor said it was not that bad and would stop. It took about a week. So make sure you can take a high doses of Tylenol especially if you have stomach problems

WHAT DO U MEAN BY "HIGH DOSES"? i THINK THE LIMIT IS NOW 4 GRAMS/DAY FOR ADULTS BUT CHECK THAT OUT WITH MAYO CLINIC OR PHARTMACIST OR MANUFACTURER.

@afibber

You might want to try the oils/tinctures ..apparently, good success with pain management and bodily discomfort. Administered under the tongue and measured by increasing small amounts of tincture. Usually by drops.

please try sublingual CBD it is from the plant, no smoking, no TCH so you don't get high. It helped a great deal with my chronic pain of nerve damage from a hernia operation.

Then told of
testing for diff meds since either I react badly of they do not help at
all. This was THC, meaning oil made from marijuana. The person said uses three
puffs on electric cigarette, I never got high or felt anything even after 4
puffs - dare not go higher. ladyjane85
