Period started again after 12 years and endometrial ablation.
Had an endometrial ablation at around 35yrs. Now 50 and period started yesterday, is that normal. Can not find anything online close to that.

I would definitely attain a second opinion. My bleeding (I am 81) after 4 years of no pap smears (recommendation by Medicare) started and pap smear (which Medicare refused to reimburse even after information supporting the Pap Smear) revealed precancerous and possible reverting to cancer cells in the short term. My surgeon OB/GYN spoke personally to the pathologist. Long story short, I received a total hysterectomy after 3 biopsies (two were surgical with anesthesia). From my point of view I wouldn’t “play around” with this complication.
I wouldn’t call that a period. I would call it abnormal bleeding.
@xrayxjay9812 Have you made an appointment with your gynecologist? What is your age? If you are perimenopausal then this is indeed worrisome. If you are postmenopausal then bleeding isn’t normal and you should get in to see your gynecologist as soon as you can.
I have and I'm 38 as of February but my bleeding seems to vanish Everytime I see my Doctor , kinda like when you take your car to the mechanic and it doesn't do that thing ya know?
@xrayxjay9812 Yes, it does seem kind like taking your car to the mechanic and that « noise » is gone.
Even if your bleeding seems to go away I would still want to talk with the doctor about it. That’s me. I’d ask if there are tests that can done to see why this keeps happening. Am I péri-menopausal? Would the doctor recommend an ultrasound to look for something that might explain this? If I didn’t get answers that helped from the doctor I’d want another opinion.
What do you think you might do next?
