It will probably go back to baseline. Mine fluctuates with various triggers. My brain has gotten used to it mostly. I felt desperate the first few months I had it.
Doctors really have nothing to offer but maybe they wanted to eliminate causes for you. Tinnitus is commonly explained as coming from the brain but results when the brain tries to fill the void from hearing loss.

not wishing to repeat myself ,but I have excellent hearing ,maybe my brain goes through some voids ,but not in anything that gives me an hour or two of silence ,I have put up with this annoying dilemma for 12 years ,and nothing makes it acceptable I cannot understand why there aren't any inroads to solving this
problem that a great number of people have to endure. There is nothing that can be pressed ,rubbed or stroked ,that will reduce this menace, and give me some peace and quiet ,My Tinnitus does not follow a trigger point ,it just goes
on and on and on and on ,
