Any long Covid people here who developed lung nodules?

Posted by ericy210 @ericy210, Jun 16, 2023

As part of the clinical long Covid study I’ve been doing for a year, I had a clean chest X-ray a year ago. Monday they found a 9mm nodule in my right posterior lung as well as “minor air trapping.” I’ve never smoked.

They referred me to their (University of Illinois Chicago) Lung Nodule department. The said they have seen cases lung nodules with long Covid. My symptoms have been fatigue and brain fog. This was very unexpected and worrying, since my dad died of lung cancer two years ago and cancer also got his sister and mom.

Have you seen any reputable studies or articles on this combination? I’m finding quite a few on my own and would like to see someone else’s “homework” if they’ve already been looking at it.

Same here I had COVID last year plus pneumonia and they say my lungs have scarring and ground glass in upper and lower lobes of both lungs. I'm on oxygen 24/7 doctors say I have to give it time and the put me on inhalers that doesn't help shortness of breath at all

@jodidido, you mention that you have PTSD from ICU. Did you know that is common? It is a condition that actually has a name Post-Intensive Care Syndrome or PICS for short.

You can read more about it in this Mayo Clinic blog:
- Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) Blog https://connect.mayoclinic.org/blog/pics/

And you can connect with other members recovering from PICS in the ICU support group here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/intensive-care-icu/

You're not alone.

I had another scan in October. I have the nodule, lung scarring, and a growth on my back ribs. I need a second opinion. I also got a letter saying my ekg had abnormalities. Gotta check that. Could all be Covid related. Or just age.

June of 2023 developed covid , thought it cleared up after one week, then developed pneumonia, April 2024 had a ct scan that showed a 6 and 8mm lung nodule , I plan to have another ct or mri in three months . Flem in the a.m. using an inhaler for copd to see if it clears up

I’ve been in a couple long studies for over two years. They test the hell it of me. The caught a 9mm nodule, minor air trapping, and some scarring that wasn’t there two years ago. I have a scan in October, one year later. This week the phlegm is back- the kind you can scoop off the tongue is handfuls. Hiccups come with it. I have thrush and brown pigmentation on my feet that are spreading. I wish my autoimmune system would settle down. Neurologist on Tuesday. I’ll see what he says.

I also have developed a lung nodule since Covid. Doctor is just watching to see if it grows. Never had one before Covid. I find this strange.

Been suffering with phlegm in my throat for 2 1/2 years. Was diagnosed with LPR, silent acid reflux. Meds did not help, had a cat scan, endoscopy, and sinus tests showed nothing . It is worse at night but always have the feeling something is my throat. Went to my GP, ENT, gastrologist no one was able to conclude or help me. It's depressing and don't know where to find help. I am imagining cancer that is being overlooked! It happened after my 3rd vaccine for covid! Any suggestions?

Is it clear thick phlegm you can pull multiple handfuls out by scraping your tongue with your fingers? I get that at times. Then it’s a massive think to swallow that leads to hiccups.
