Multiple family members with autoimmune diseases....is there a link?
i am 48 yr old who tested + for HLAB-27 and Lupus at my family physician in 2012 after my son 2011(18 yr now) dx AS and daughter (23) dx same ur psoriatic arthritis. My father 70 just passed awayJune dx Lupus, end stage lung disease, brother(50 ) with primary progressive MS and his Daughter (23) dx RA . Anyone see this many autoimmune in 1 family? Know any clinical trials?
I read correlation between lupus /MS and AS/ MS. Anyone else know any info would be helpful.

Yes, Based on my family all of my father's mother side had some kind of autoimmune illness. I only know this from investigating with family and friends of my family back to my Great Grandparents. Parkinson's, RA, Lupus, ALS, Sjogrens, Celiac Disease, Perphial Neuropathy, Depression and Anxiety. My Rheumotologist believes there are all connected to my challenges. I pray that the medical community will use this information together to treat us proactively rather than just symptomatic. I believe we were given everything we need to take care of ourselves either chemically or organically and the cure is already here, we just have to find it with our educated and thoughtful gifts provided to us. 3 ReactionsI think there is a genetic link. I have Psoriatic Arthritis. My brother and paternal aunt have RA. That's as far back as I know. My Father was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I am assuming it is linked to his bloodline.

Thank you for responding. Yes it is very interesting and getting genetic testing not a bad idea but I am sure must be pricey.
I'm with a genealogy group and the test for ancestors is about $70. But I'm sure the disease issue is more involved.<br><br>
Hi, from my side i am the only one in both families, no one with same history or even any of them. So far nothing with my kids but they are still young
My family both sides are diabetic , my brother RIP passed in 2013 from same thing I have autoimmune disease Primary Biliary Sclorsis, we get I think 23 genes from mom and 23 from Dad you can live a long life without symptoms different things brings genetic disease on like stress, high acidic envioment not enough pH? And so on it will be new wave of medicine in preventive care.But Big Money in medication ! I use to be a blood donor couple years before diagnosed they would not take my blood and make up crazy stories why not? They said I did not weigh enough when I did or I would have a small scratch from gardening not infected and so on, the DNA test you mail for is to determine your heritage my husband just found out he is part German his cousin sent for the test? But if med field feels you have a mutation they will genetically test you I have been a couple time good luck to you Deena
