Hi @user_ch031a490 - great question! I'm tagging @michellecrcrn, @mohavegal and @coloradoroses, all members who have recently discussed their experiences with thyroid-related conditions. I've also included information on the types of thyroid tests Mayo Clinic offers: http://mayocl.in/29BZRRo.
Is this a test your physician is recommending for you?
Great question!! I've been told tsh does not need fasting. Although I've always done my blood tests first thing in the mornings and fasted. I did however take my thyroid medication in the morning as I've been taking them for years so not taking it one day isn't going to make a difference as the t4 is in the body(for a week from what I have heard). I think in my opinion fasting gets a better test result.
