I really think I was so surprised When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I really didn’t ask the right questions I had a mammogram every year and had some fibroid cysts Had a biopsy in my 40’ s done by a regular surgeon and I as negative just a fibroid cyst in both breast Had my mammogram at 80 and an ultrasound with biopsy
Showed Invasive ductal carcinoma in right breast
Scheduled for surgery Really no one mentioned score or grade When had my follow up with the surgeon she said I wouldn’t do radiation just a pill a day Then appointment with oncologist I told him surgeon said just a pill. Maybe age
After I stopped the Tomaxifin for 3 months and then later started the 5 mg and was doing ok He mentioned radiology but I said I would just stay on lower dose and save radiation for later if needed
Maybe not very smart But sometimes I think so routine for them they don’t really explain At that time I didn’t do any research seemed like everyone and their Mother took this drug
Maybe should have had radiation I wasn’t afraid of it
Just shocked and shoud have did a little research Usually I’m smarter ☺️

Hi
Did you have mammograms every 2 years or was there a big lapse between finding it at 80. I am just that kind of person that researches plus I worked in the hospital for 35 years as a purchaser for the operating room so I sort of knew what kind of research I needed to do. It's your right to question things always. I also was extremely shocked when they told me I had cancer I always had dense breasts and I had a biopsy after my mammogram last September which showed dcis.
