Having my 47mm flat polyp removed in the lower sigmoid next month. I did have rectal bleeding but it has subsided. I’m really worried.

@michele521, I agree with @carol32605. It's hard not to worry. I had a flat pre-cancerous polyp removed during a colonoscopy under sedation. That was all that was needed and I continue to be monitored every few years. Colorectal cancer grows very slowly. A flat polyp may be pre-cancerous and if removed, you'll have stopped cancer in its tracks. If it is more than a polyp, then you've caught it early and it is treatable.
