Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

I had Plantar Fasciitis for more than a year, then I was advised to buy Birkenstock sandals. In 2 weeks my problem was gone! They do take a couple of days to get used to, but they’re wonderful. I find it helps my back too. I have a pair for just around the house! I hope you get some relief soon!

I use an oil on my feet every morning that really helps with the pain and burning sensation. It's called Outback. Just do s search on "Outback foot oil". You can get it through Amazon or order it directly.

Believe it or not Sketchers. Although not perfect the ones with foot support have worked well for me over the years.

@lorirenee1 I would love to have the answer for that too. Wonderful question. I have tried soft soles and hard soles and orthopedic inserts and gel inserts. I have found nothing that keeps my feet from feeling as if I'm walking on broken glass. If you find something, will you let me know? I am almost to the point of not being able to walk. I'm sure there are others who would like suggestions too.
Thanks,

Personally, I have found that Nike's make my feet hurt more, usually. I generally do okay with Skechers until they break down. If I find something really good I usually two to buy two pair them and then I may be okay for a while, the same with the memory foam.

I have a mild case of neuropathy. When my feet feel their worst, I find that the plastic Birkenstocks are the most comfortable.

What is the best remedy for neuropathy? My toes just started getting stiff when bending. At times I get stabbing pains in my feet. Is there a fix?

Welcome @mike2812 and @savinggrace

@savinggrace, Thanks for sharing what helps. Glad to hear your neuropathy is mild. What are your most bothersome symptoms?
@mike2812, Finding the best remedy/treatment for neuropathy is the journey that many of us with neuropathy have traveled. My best suggestion is to learn as much as you can about the condition and it's causes along with what treatments provide relief. There is no magic fix or cure for neuropathy. Here's a link to Connect discussions and comments related to "stabbing pain in feet" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=stabbing%20pain%20in%20feet.

Also, for learning more about neuropathy, here are my two favorite sites:

Welcome @dl2458, I also have worn Sketchers for many years and only recently had to look for ones that weren't as cushy to help with my balance. Have you found any other shoes that help?
