Thank you for writing to me. Not sure how osteoporosis affects herniated disc. I’ve read that steroids in general are not good for the bone density. However, my doctor said that one or two occasional shots doesn’t affect so much. Not as much as pills. On top of everything I have a chronic tailbone pain. Life is not fun right now. A lot of sleepless nights. I appreciate any thought or your advice how to cope with pain.

When I fractured L2, I also herniated four discs, with two impinging nerves. For months I did PT, took Tylenol, and my lifesaver, was topical CBD cream, without THC. It helps immensely. I decided not to do injections based on my BMD and healing fracture. I still have some disc pain, being in the pool floating with a ski belt helps a lot. My tailbone is what is still the most restricting. My doctor recommended pelvic floor therapy specifically for the tailbone. He said it helps a lot. It is not the same as pelvic floor therapy for incontinence. Same Dr. says I could do injections twice, but other doctors advised against.
