No, I have not had cochlear implants suggested. Most have recommended SSRI drugs which I do not tolerate well. Plus I feel it is a physical issue, not really psychological. Though of course it has caused depression.

I have quite a lot of hearing, but it is distorted. I have an appointment coming up with my current Audiologist and will ask what he thinks about cochlear implants for me. I am also interested in Lenire. Wondering if that therapy could help me.

I’m trying very hard not to give up, but after two years and nothing working for me, I am very discouraged.

I wish you the best and encourage you not to give up. Hearing loss is very frustrating because it hits us hard in so many ways. Are you familiar with HLAA? The Hearing Loss Assn. of America has chapters in many locations. It promotes peer support, education, information sharing, etc. Just meeting other people who are experiencing what you are experiencing can be a big game changer. Check out HLAA at http://www.hearingloss.org
