@me49 I am going to try turning off my Cpap if i get up during the night. The problem with that is mine has a ramp up phase before it goes to the regular setting . I reported to my practitioner that i am not waking up feeling refreshed and energized. She suggested I try taking extended release melatonin before bed.

Walk4life,
You can adjust ramp time. I had problems getting used to the mask. The ramp time was originally 20 minutes. I could fall asleep after an hour or more. My respiratory therapist told me how to increase the ramp time on my Airsense 11 to 40 minutes. That helped me to fall asleep during the adjustment period. I put it back to the original 20 minutes now. You can completely turn off the ramp, or set it for 5, 10 etc. intervals. Melatonin is a good idea, but it makes me too groggy in the morning, even at a low dose. I figure that I am producing enough Melatonin on my own. Your awakenings may be caused by apnea events, rather than a bathroom need. If you have a data card in your machine, it will record when your apneas occur which may give your practioner a better idea as to what's happening in your sleep. Best wishes for better ZZZ s.
