Please someone tell me the trick to relax severe leg cramps????
Lord, they are lasting 1-2 hours, debilitating pain. Can't walk them off. Starting behind the knees down to my toes. Some curl my toes some point them. Tried stretching, bio feedback relaxation. NO HELP!! HELP!

@lioness, Hey there, Mamacita here. How are you doing today? This interests me because, after two days of constant tromping around the UAB medical system, my feet and legs were loudly protesting. Woke me up in the middle of the night.

I had forgotten about pickle juice. But I always take Magnesium tablets. Seems to me that pickle juice would, indeed, work quicker than a Magnesium tablet. Especially if one has other complications, such as poor absorption issues or, say, Gastroparesis.

Good thing I have lots of pickle jars! Thanks for the information! "See "you later.!

That's too bad. I'm sorry it didn't. Leg cramps can be absolutely debilitating.

Many years ago my husband would get severe leg cramps. He was prescribed quinine pills by his doctor that worked well. (quinine water does not have enough quinine in it) Then one day quinine pills were taken off of the market and are still off of the market.

I have found that a daily foot soak in magnesium oil is very helpful for leg cramps. I found magnesium oil on Amazon, Magnesium Oil by Wisdom Health. I buy half a gallon at a time (the half gallon lasts for weeks) and add 4 ounces to an inch of warm water and soak for 30 minutes daily in a plastic container that fits my feet.. I can use the same solution for 3-4 days, then I toss it out and start with a fresh batch.. Karen

Don't know if you are a coffee/caffeine drinker, but I have just about completely eliminated all caffeine from my diet and have had relief from cramps. I had the toe curling type like you have, though thankfully they didn't last as long as yours do (the pain was unreal!). Good luck and hope you find relief soon.

Thanks. That's a great thought. I consume a TON of caffeine.

The cramps could be caused by your medication. I was on Forteo and had terrible leg cramps. My doctor prescribed Flexiral . Could not take a whole one because it really leaves you drowsy the next day. If I take any now, its less that one-half.

I have restless legs that goes from right below my knees to my toes. Often it is very painful. My doctor prescribed pramixpol (I think it's the wrong spelling but it's worked great for me.
