This is very difficult, I know from experience. And laying down much of the time creates more disability. Getting a spinal cord stimulator plus Lyrica and Cymbalta (ask doctor to start you on the lowest dose possible to avoid side effects, then raise the dose to get adequate pain relief.) None of these things by themselves provide enough pain relief for me. I also take an antidepressant. All this keeps the pain manageable and thus keeps me out of bed most of the time. Good luck.
