COPD?
I was told two years ago that I have COPD. I had a lung function test. I have no shortness of breath. I have no mucus build up in my lungs, I have normal O2 levels, no cough. I do have mild sleep apnea and sleep well under my CPAP machine. I excersise (walking, rowing, weights) for 1 hour daily. I quit smoking over 40 years ago. I am 70. My symptoms are fatigue at the end of my day. I do experience heat waves throughout the day with my face and hands turning red. I always check my nail beds to see i they are purple and they are not. Does his sound like COPD? I have one dr who says yes to COPD and one who says no to COPD. Any thoughts or suggestions?

maybe useful info to follow up to speed things along, especially in the US
Fascinating article. Well worth following progress of research. As the medical community of thoracic surgeons and lung transplant teams haven't yet mastered and had good success rates with Lung transplants through no fault of their own. Seems we're good at a lot of transplants but lungs still aren't one of them. Darn!
heat waves have been a common side effect to my COPD. I have been told it was partially CO2 being retained in my red blood cells rather than carrying O2. Check with your Doctor. Heat wanes are very uncomfortable, My doctor is treating with prednisone and O2 therapy.
