Hi @susandockter, this is a great question. While I can't provide you with a diagnosis, I was able to find some information on connections between stress and anxiety inducing itchiness of the skin: http://www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety/symptoms/burning-itching-skin-anxiety.shtml

I know you received a diagnosis from your dermatologist, but you may want to discuss this with your primary doctor or therapist. Do you find that these skin attacks flare up during high stress or anxious moments?

I would say in my case it's definitely anxiety and flight or fright related to incest issues which of course Ive been working on for years. The problem is that these issues are deep and take a long time to heal from. Let me know if you hear of others who have to deal with this. I also posted in mental health. It was good to read an article and see that others have it too!

Hi @susandockter, how have you been doing? Have you been able to find any treatments or resolutions to the skin flare ups you were experiencing? Are you still getting them? I have been keeping an eye out for other users who may be experiencing similar issues, and I'd recommend connecting with @sunshineme and reading some of their recent posts.
