Does Vitamin B-12 help with neuropathy?
I have developed neuropathy in my feet----especially the soles. When I walk, it's like walking on shards of glass that are on fire. Several articles indicate that B-12 can help. I don't want to take any prescribed meds. I have Diabetes 2. This not being able to walk without intense pain has kept me from even walking the grocery store to buy groceries. Can anyone give me information about B-12 and foot neuropathy?
Thanks,
Carol

Have you looked on Facebook to see if there patients with neuropathy?
Yes I am in two groups. The pernicious anemia one has 43000 members.
Doctor can test for low vitamin and supplement levels such as B12. Nerve pain can be caused by many things. One supplement my doctors suggested is alpha lipoic acid for pain. Some people worry about taking to much of a vitamin but with vitamin B and C, your body will eliminate excessive amounts, your urine will be a brighter yellow. Zinc was another supplement my doctor suggested. I also rub methol on my feet when they hurt too.
My heart goes out to you, I have neuropathy since 14 months of Herceptin chemo in 2012-1024. Praying for your complete recovery.
I had HER2 breast cancer with cancer in my right lymph node, discovered in December 2011. From 2012 till 2014. I had chemo, plus both of my breasts removed and chemotherapy. I am humbly amazed to be alive, and have seen 9 more grandchildren come into this world. Plus, with our oldest son who came to live with us when he was 14 years old, we are blessed with two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. However, since beginning Herceptin in 2012, I have had neuropathy in my hands and feet, non-stop. I just bolstered my Vitamin B-12 intake, hoping that it will make a difference.
