Blueprint to Neuropathy?

Posted by hossie @hossie, Apr 22 2:03pm

Has anyone tried Blueprint to Nueropathy? Apparently it is a treatment approach that is being used by many chiropractors. It's long in duration and not cheap. I am not looking for a silver bullet, just some improvement in my feet. Thanks.

@hossie, I've heard a few members mention it in older discussions but I don't think I've seen any evidence-based studies about their treatment protocol. Similarly, there were no results in the research database on PubMed https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/. Their original website is no longer active (http://blueprinttoneuropathy.net/) and I think this is the new one but it also has no evidence-based studies about their protocol other than their claims on the website here - https://blueprintnutrition.com/education/neuropathy/.

There are a lot of supplements that have research and studies supporting their use all of which I've seen listed here on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy's website in the Complementary and Alternative Treatments document - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments-Revised-2020-final.-1.pdf.

Early on I looked into treatment at a neuropathy clinic and decided against it because it was a lot of money over many treatments with no guarantees. That and I could find no evidence-based studies that it might work or help. I would proceed with caution. Ask questions, hard questions about scientific evidence before paying loads of money.

I had burning, pins and needles and now numbness in my feet but not diagnosed with diabetes. I had a small fiber neuropathy punch biopsy of skin at calf and upper thigh and it confirmed small fiber neuropathy. I researched supplements to take for neuropathy and started taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl L Carnitine and they helped to reduce the pain/discimfort. I don’t believe a chiropractor would be able to help you with neuropathy in your feet. You may want to spend your time and money going to a good neurologist to do EMGs, nerve conduction studies, blood work for neuropathy. Good luck!

I doubt that supplements are going to help neuropathy to any degree. It is likely that the only ones who benefit are the companies that make these things.

Definitely not a cure but does provide some level of relief for a lot of us.

Glad to hear. I guess that since I have had severe chronic pain for eight years with little relief from everything I've tried, I tend to be a bit pessimistic. I had a chiropractor who ran a chain practice called Disc Centers of America tell me he could cure me with spinal decompression and supplement. All for the low,low price of $9600. I was so desperate that I almost took out the loan to begin treatments. Then, I did a search and discovered these places are a scam.

This treatment is not just supplements. It involves a sort of tens unit that produces electrical currents underwater while soaking feet. It also includes wearing an anodyne sort of shoe, doing both of these twice a day. It also includes some chiropractic treatment for a lower back. (I have had several laminectomies in lumbar and cervical area.) And if you go on the website for this particular chiropractor, or others that use the same combination of treatments, there are lots of very positive testimonials. I am not sure if I will try it or not.

John, did you see my latest posting indicating that it’s not just nutrition? And curious to your thoughts about having lots of testimonials? For example, on this local website, there are at least 15 local testimonials and this is true on other websites that use the same program.

I did see your post but my thoughts are that there is no research that they reference other than their website advertising. I personally have tried similar products including a Zopek DT-1200 tens designed for neuropathy and it didn’t help with my numbness symptoms even though some folks have found relief from pain symptoms.
