@heysp22, you and your dad have been through a lot. I moved your post to the Men's Health support group. You may find these related discussions helpful:

You mention that your dad also has type 2 diabetes. Has that been discussed with his doctor too? How is he doing?

Thank you I just did not know which discussion to start. My dad has a better understanding of his complex medical history of diabetes type 1, HBP and UTI. A foley placed in for Urine retention. To having an acute kidney injury, bladder and prostate problems. At this point, I just made a chart on him. I collected and explain all reports to my dad. I didn't know he was having problems expressing his questions to the doctors. He wanted to know what happened to him & about his hospital stays. Its been hard to get his doctor's to talk with other doctors about TURP & HoLEP any testing. But now they know our questions are typed & given to them day before the office visit. But Dad is just glad I understand it and if not I will. I just don't want to miss anything.

@colleenyoung , I got a chance to review, big time great. I'm really surprised that my dad doctors weren't feeling the need to get more involved in him. But seeing the urologist every three weeks for Foley change. Would spark something. But today see his PCP to review his tests. Lab, UA, MRI brain, Carotid scan, colonoscopy, and make some more sense of dad health.

Hi ,@colleenyoung Want to give you an update on my father he had the HoLEP procedure two weeks ago. He was starting to get bad before procedure he started with more UTIs and bladder stones more ER visits with catheter problems. Once we got him settled with the procedure went successful. The doctor had found 15 more bladder stones. It was able to urinate again on his own. He has had some bloody discharge but no pain. He's just needs to get used to not having the catheter in. Thank you for your recommendations. And research helped out so much on my part as a caregiver family member. He cannot be happier with the results. He still has three more weeks of minimal activity and antibiotics. Freedom is back to him again. I hope that makes sense and it's spelled correctly.
