I have been diagnosed with CIDP and am currently getting an IVIG infusion every 4 weeks, WHile this treatment is helping somewhat, I have now developed muscle spasms that come on only when I lie on either my back or side.

My neurologist feels that the spasms (95% limited to my trunk) are associated with the CIDP (limited to my feet and lower legs) and I'd like to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar issue.

I too experience muscle spasms that vary from being in my feet, or ankles, and boy do they hurt.
The other nite I had one in my big toe of my right foot.
It lasted from 5:45 pm to the next morning.
I tried pain meds, CBD ointment, ice pack and massaging it.
Nothing helped the spasms go away.
I must’ve finally fallen asleep sometime around 4:30 am.
When I woke up at around 9:00am, the pain was gone.
Same happened again prior to that occurrence, but this time it was in my left ankle area.
Again it lasted 10 hrs, and I was unable to fall asleep
Again I tried everything I could think of including Tramadol and nothing worked.
When it goes away, I’m finally able to get some sleep.
These spasms come on without warning, last a really longtime and make me want to jump out a window.
They’re no fun at all, and I never know where they’ll start and how long they’ll last.
