Fibroma on top of stoma: Should it be removed?

Posted by a009507 @a009507, Sep 17, 2023

Has anyone had a Fibroma develop on top of stoma? The dr said it would be ok but if bothersome, could surgically remove.

I have not experienced a Fibroma. How/where did it develop? What is the treatment? Sorry. Ostomy is enough w/o additional hiccups.

The Fibroma is on the very top of the stoma. I don’t know why it developed but I’ll be sure to ask the dr at my next visit. If it becomes a problem, the dr said he would have to surgically remove it. It would be an outpatient procedure.

@a009507, did you decide to have it removed? Is it bothersome?

It’s not bothersome now. Thank goodness.

I expect to have Fibroma excised later in the month. The surgeon thinks it should be removed and a biopsy will be done to make sure not an issue. No reason to believe it will.

Fibroma removed yesterday. Some slight bleeding and very sore throat. Have yet to poop. Hoping this isn’t a problem.
