After knee replacement surgery
Had left knee replaced 9 days ago. Right knee two years ago. Having a problem with inflammation so hard to bend knee and exercise. Trying to ice and raise knee above heart. Doctor suggested getting compression hose. Anybody have this experience and can offer suggestions. So tired all the time from pain interrupting my sleep and painkillers. My insurance refused to pay for the painkiller recommended by surgeon so have to take one with more opiates. That's frustrating. Two years ago it was covered but now too expensive for me to use. Seems the drug companies, not our doctors are determining what we use.

i was given a photo of the needle in the knee.
@danielero Thank you so much!
@cobweb -- Yes, Regenexx has lots of photos on the web showing how the procedures are done. However, they do not do Arthroscopies. That said, the doctors are experts in their field and may do other procedures as well.
@dkapustin, @cobweb, and All interested -- I went for the consultation with my Regenexx Doctor and we decided to do a number of procedures -- Not all at one time of course 🙂
I will begin with Platelet Lysate for the lower back, because I fell last spring, causing 2 ruptured disks and I am in pain (2 treatments). I will continue with the stem cell procedure for the knee sometime in July (1 treatment). Then it will be PRP for the wrist (I broke it last May, same fall when I injured my back) and the ligaments need to be strengthen (2 treatments -- I think!). Finally, it will be PRP for my cervical spine (fractured 2 vertebrae, years ago) and that will take 2 treatments.
For @dkapustin: I asked my doctor about Conscious Sedation -- You will be very happy to know most offices DO! So ask your doctor! 🙂
My first appointment for the Platelet Lysate (Lower Back) is for 30 April ... Stay tuned and stay well!

@danielad I had stem cells and PRP - in 5 joints at one time. As USC Dr. said. Its like a gallon of ice cream - put a scoop here - another scoop there, another scoop there.
@mari -- Thank you Mari! Never thought of even asking the doctor; I thought it was not possible!!! I will when I go for the first Platelet Lysate treatment. I guess the next question is: How did you feel following all of that?
@danielad / I did not expect stem cells to help my bone on bone, but, in @ 2 weeks I felt rejuvenated and stronger - better balance, like feeling my former self. With all the knee pain, I had been "smaller" - like inside an envelope. Then I came out and and stood tall. I reported this to my Dr. - he said that he's heard that before from other patients.
@johnbishop -- Rest well tonight John! Our best wishes for tomorrow's surgery and a speedy recovery! I know everyone will miss your informative and comforting responses, but be sure to take all the time you need, before coming back to help others! A big hug!

@mari -- WOW! So good to hear!! How long ago did you do the stem cell procedure? And how do you feel now? Thanks!

I had stem cell in my left knee 1 1/2 years ago and unfortunately they didn't work for me. I was bone on bone and ended up having tkr in Jan. Injection into space with ultrasound was barely felt. Not painful at all.
