Radiation: When do side effects show?

Posted by sue417 @sue417, Apr 2 5:59pm

Hi
I just completed 10 days of double radiation to my breast for stage 2 ER PR positive her two negative breast cancer my question is I have had no side effects except fatigue from my radiation. My breast has not burned but my technician today told me that it may start next week has anyone else had this happen after your radiation is completed. I had some swelling and just tenderness but other than that no side effects yet to my skin also my other question is when they are radiating your right breast does it hit your left breast?

I havent heard that but I scored an aloe vera leaf and put the gel on every 20 minutes. I also bought Lily of the Desert 99% Aloe Gel for night or when i was going out.
I would suggest getting at least the gel and putting it in every 30 minutes.

The leaf and gel worked so well during my treatment that my doctor called me into his office after 3 weeks of being radiated every day, concerned he
mis calibrated me.
I asked him “ Are you concerned because im not burning enough?.” He said “Yes, youre not burning at all”.
In informed him his calibrations were correct and that it was what I was doing that caused no burning. I told him I was using the aloe leaf gel every 20 minutes.
Nature Works. Pass the Aquafor and use a real leaf or Lily of the Desert religiously.

Is the decline from an AI ? Or other treatment.

Good question. My femoral neck T score deteriorated from -1.3 to -1.8 after I had chemo and radio. The result of extreme fatigue and not wanting to exercise. That was before taking anastrozole. Now back to -1.4 - due to my Onero type supervised exercise program. I am 76. Chemo etc at 74. Not aware of any evidence that chemo per se causes bone loss.

I always recommend ComfortSlings to women undergoing radiation. They gave the skin beneath my breast awesome protection following my lumpectomy. By my treatment’s end, my skin had darkened slightly at the radiation site, but was otherwise unchanged. I had no pain, no broken skin. If you develop soreness, irritation or pain, the ComfortSling will give you immense relief by eliminating the perspiration and preventing skin to skin abrasion beneath your breast.

I wish I had read about your remedy almost 2 years ago! That makes perfect sense. Aloe has the most oxygen of any plant.
