Low level nausea for several months & nothing helps. Ideas?

Posted by mikejjb123 @mikejjb123, Mar 30 12:43pm

I used to have a period when I would have nausea for several days or so if not weeks but it would go away for a time. Now I have low level nausea that remains constant and has not gone away for at least 2 months. Doesn't matter what I eat or don't. Raise my head when sleep or not. Any ideas what to do? Thanks.

Have you gotten a EKG or or a heart monitor on your heart you might have some irregular heartbeat stuff might be causing your nausea too just don't know. Cuz when I get nausea sometimes it was my heart not beating right ❤️❤️💞💞💔💔

I have had constant nausea and constant abdominal spasms for almost 3 years. My GI doctor kept treating it as IBS even when I didn't have IBS symptoms. Finally a few weeks ago I talked with a very educated nurse and she suggested that I talk to my GI doctor about trying a low dose of haldol. My doctor decided to see if haldol helps, I have been on it for 3 weeks and I feel much better.

I agree with others that a GI appointment is necessary. I recently experienced the ongoing nausea, and I have been diagnosed with IBS . ( Dr. wanted to put me on Rifaximin. I resisted because he was not requiring the test for SIBO, and I worried about the effect of antibiotic on rest of the microbiome. Dr. did not explain that Rifaximin only kills bad bacteria. I took SIBO test at Hopkins and it was negative.
Fast forward 4 yrs. later, new Dr. said I should take Rifaximin and explained that it would not hurt microbiome. I took the course of antibiotic and I feel better with no adverse side effects. I really want to emphasize that just previous to the Rifaximin, I decided to get off my blood pressure med as nausea is a side effect. I was on telmisatin for 7 mo. Been off it now for 7 wks., and I do suspect that the med was actually causing the nausea.
Its possible that the nausea could be a side effect of a med also.

Thank you. I didn't want to add too much detail. I have been to numerous GIs and hospitals including Johns Hopkins and Georgetown. Nothing seems to be helping.

Has anyone looked at your gall bladder? I had low level queasiness for months, and that was the source of the problem. It was removed, and while the nausea didn't stop instantaneously, it quit entirely about a month after the surgery.

Have you checked your ✔️ blood pressure when you get nausea it might cause by low blood pressure if you're standing up. 🤮 Sometimes low blood pressure can cause you to have symptoms like nausea it might be like postural postural blood pressure something like that.

I have had constant nausea for several years. Doctors have tried several medications nothing helped just made things worse. I talked to a nurse and she suggested that I asked my doctor to prescribe a low dose of haldol. I have been on haldol for almost a month and my nausea is at a 3 from a 7. I also had constant abdominal spasms and haldol has helped that also.

Sounds like some of the effects I’m having too. As soon as I wake up my stomach feels like it’s inflamed and it feels jittery, slight nausea and lightheadedness. These symptoms last all day and up to around 9:00pm when they subside. This had all started about three years ago after going through chemotherapy for breast cancer . The first chemo treatment I got c-diff and was put on antibiotics. Only had two chemo treatments before getting mastectomy. I went to GI doctor and was put on Nortriptyline. Doesn’t help the symptoms during the day. What does haldol do and I’m wondering if it could help my symptoms.
