"Indeterminate" Navdx Result

Posted by brad78 @brad78, Apr 5 8:26am

After a few weeks I received my Navdx result and it was found "indeterminate". Have no idea what that really means. Thankful not positive but it's not a negative either. Anyone ever seen this before?

Brad, doesn’t that just make you shake your head when they tell you that? My response to a doctor who gives that conclusion: “ Well, perhaps we can be a little more conclusive at the autopsy.”

Exactly. In our minds we put a lot of stock into those results. Now they are wanting to do the test over again (my doctor) and I'm not sure I want to go through that mentally again. I think the bottom line is this is all going to take time and I just need to get that through my head. If it comes back, I'll just have to deal with it.

I agree. That’s what I would do. I think you will know if you are having problems before anyone else. Let’s just believe you are on the mend and all is good.
Tonight I hugged a horse. It really helps to just drop to zero with the horse and forget about everything beyond the corral.

@brad78 you certainly have reason for frustration. We want and need these tests to be conclusive, but sadly that is not how the medical world works. Not always black and white, but often a shade of gray. True it is a far better result than positive, but what a total letdown to not have a negative. With over 40 years in the medical profession ( Veterinary is not so different from Human) I am not surprised to see a gray area response, but when it is about your own health it is a million times worse. So think about maybe it wasn't indeterminate because of the contents your particular sample. Perhaps there was a slight error in handling or the actual testing process itself. That possibility is why it is recommended to repeat the test. If it comes back gray again, wait whatever time they recommend and test again. I looked to see the accuracy of this test and it appears to be around 95%. You are unlucky enough to fall into the 5 % this time. Next time may be different. I totally relate to the anxiety of test and scan results, so repeat when you are ready.

I did get a message from my surgeon today who thinks I was a little early in taking it.
