I usually sleep a lot and am still tired. Today I woke up around 3 am and can't go back to sleep. I am at my cousin's house a long way from home. We came to bring my sister some of her belongings that we didn't have room for when we brought her here. It wasn't working out at our house. She is a very negative person. Older than me and we are the only two of our birth family left.

She is doing very well at our cousins house, where she has a nice room and her own bathroom. She only "punched" me once, by which I mean a negative verbal attack. Not worth telling. I responded politely, without anger.

The problem is I feel like I'm suffocating. My cousin and her husband are wonderful and their house is very nice, clean and organized. Food is wonderful.

It may be that contrast from my house which I left with lots of boxes from sorting out my sister's stuff on top of our stuff I've been working on lessening for years. It may be because she won't talk to me about the $2500 she owes me & my husband for moving expenses. (Not worth telling the whole story.) It might be all the old childhood stuff she brings into the conversation.

Three more days before we leave. I've talked enough. thanks for listening.

Have you had a sleep study?

Do you know at all what triggers the suffocating feeling?

Hang on. Hopefully you will be able to decompress once you get home.

Thank you all for telling your experiences and advice. (The only adult childhood who's talking to me.) I am now at my son's house taking care of his dogs. It's relaxing, quite. The dogs are not good conversationalists, but they are comforting and cuddling.

After I had a fall here, I had the first conversation with my sister that was congenial and healing. It is the first time since the last time we visited. I'm sleeping okay.
A few days after I came, I got a call from my cousin that my sister is in the hospital. Serious and unpredictable. I got scared (of intruders) I scared 0f carbon Monoxide. Both are kind of silly, with barking dogs, and electronic locks. I called my husband and smoothed things over.
Thanks again for your help. I go home Tuesday. I hope I can help other people.
