Have you tried lidocaine. There’s a 5% in a blue tube only on Amazon. It helps a lot for at least an hour or so you get a break.

I get the 2 pack and set it for automatic delivery every 6 months because you get it cheaper. These 2 will last at least 6 months. I keep one in my purse and one in my car so I’m never without it

Is your eyebrow the most severe?

Hello, I actually developed shingles after receiving a radio frequency ablation for chronic pain issues and nerve damage in my spine. I am not sure why this happened, but I understand my case is rare. I am in my mid-thirties and living in Colorado where marijuana is legal, and while I do not use anything that alters my mind at all - I do utilize the topical creams and they work better than any other compound cream or oils I've ever used! My favorite topical for nerve pain that helped me with my usual nerve pain, and after the ablation with the shingles is from a company called NectarBee and the product is called Nerve Salve and in CO a store called "The Green Solution" sells it. Unfortunately you cannot buy these products online, but I wanted to mention it just in case you lived in a state that has dispensaries. I cannot imagine living with shingles for a decade or more, I am sorry you have to go through that! I hope you find something that helps!!

After nine years, I'm finding gabapentin the most helpful. Three times a day makes me unable to function well, so I take 200mg morning and night. A neurosurgeon at Vanderbilt told me to never let anyone touch me with radio frequency ablation. I've since gone to a pain management specialist and a new neurologist. I now use a compounded cream along with my gabapentin and can tolerate my symptoms pretty well. I also take a stress med. The topical cream contains lidocaine, gabapentin and several more drugs.

Your doctor is right stay away from the RFA
I had the PRF
It doubled my pain. The numbing shot lasted two days. It made my pain worse afterwards. Still bad after eight months
