I want to say that I was not talking about any group of people or nationality…I was trying to convey that a woman (Caucasian) said something so inappropriate and demeaning that it shocked me beyond the pale..the young man who I was raising my voice to was A nice young Latino man who completely understood my frustration and he was very kind and professional…I didn’t mean to start anything … this world we live in is too full of political rancor…
Thanks for your reply…rude behavior that goes beyond the pale does bother anyone and can come from anywhere anytime…I guess the point I was trying to make, is that this woman (Caucasian) in another line, glared at and shamed me with a statement that stunned me..because it was so uncalled for and it creeped me out…I never intimated that any group of person or persons of any age group or nationality had any doing with it…again thanks for your supportive reaction…🙏pvctom
Oh floralou, generalizations like this make me so sad! We live in a largely Hispanic community, where everyone is taught by example to respect and care for their elders. Doors are held, laundry baskets and grocery bags put in cars, carts returned and all manner of assistance offered by the younger people here. Teens jump up to give us "abuelas" their chairs in crowds.
On the other hand, the older men (winter visitors) are apt to just walk in front of us through doors and not hold them, not take turns in lines, etc. And the young are far less judgmental about many issues than many of my peers who believe there way is the only right way.
So goes life, so please don't single out one group and paint them as bad.
