Food sensitivity results in Severe Insomnia
Hoping someone out there has experience with this problem, and can make recommendations.
I am on 4 mg of prednisone a day reduced from 5 and that is when this problem started. If I eat anything after 2 o’clock that is not homemade with ingredients that do not have additives, preservatives, MSG, colorings, etc. I have insomnia that night. Typically, I cannot fall asleep until after 2am going to bed around 10pm. if I remember to take papaya enzymes right after I eat, I sometimes avoid the insomnia. Appreciate your suggestions.

Hello @magluchi, I don't have any experience with food sensitivity or allergy causing insomnia but I'm sure you are not alone. There is some research on the topic that you might find helpful while you wait for members who have experience to respond.

Are you taking any other medications? I am taking hydroxychloroquine 200 mg and although the literature says I should sleep better, I do not. My problem is not the same as yours. I can. go to sleep but wake up at 2 to 4 AM and cannot got to sleep. This is not usual for me before taking HCQ when I would sleep from about 10:30 PM to 7 AM
Thank you for replying to my post. I am on 4 mg of prednisone, budesonide,Fosomax. When I was on gabapentin, I had no problem with food reactions or pain and now I have a bit of both. Unfortunately gabapentin packs a lot of terrible side effects so not worth the trade. Insomnia is so bad for you. I just hate not sleeping.
