@nancyc777 Yes, I am so grateful that we can get cataract surgery here in the U.S. It's such a blessing. Like you I need to wear glasses especially for reading. I chose to get transition lens like I had before the cataract surgery and I don't mind wearing glasses. I have an astigmatism in one eye that the surgery doesn't correct so the glasses help with distance vision in that one eye too. I drove on a road today that I recalled driving on shortly before my cataract surgery. It was raining that night and I couldn't see well enough to drive and so I turned the wheel over to my partner. That was frightening. With the surgery I don't have that problem anymore and can drive at night. And yes, I can now see the street names and highway signs.

That’s very affirming. I am far sighted - even before old age. And I have developed some astigmatism in recent years. I considered a Toric lens but elected not to take that route. Too much can shift or change and then I would need a lens replacement surgery. I don’t mind wearing glasses and at least I can manage to drive after dark and in the rain.
