Galleri blood test

I have same question as I follow Dr Peter Attai and feel this tech is promising. In Boston here Tufts Medical Center is partnering with them but my oncologist at Dana Farber poo pooed and said well what would we do with results! I’m so discouraged but cost is an issue for me! Anyone?

I was wondering about what do one do with the results. Say if I got a positive result for a specific cancer, I will need further studies such as imaging, endoscopy, or biopsy etc. If it’s a false positive then I will end up wasting time and money. What about false negatives? That will be more of a problem. In addition, how often would one need to be tested? Supposedly one test only tells you at this specific test time, what your cancer markers look like

I was also thinking the same thing. I had the prenuvo scan in NYC in August. Very interesting full body scan. It showed some issue I already knew about. It did show cancer for my brother who is now getting treatment. If you have one in your area it is promising. I had heard about it when Maria Menunos was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She said it saved her life.

While I totally understand your concern about "chasing" false positive are very unusual. You either love this type of tech or are leery but early detection is all we really have...my dad, a doctor at 90 yrs sadly with dementia used to say the tools to treat have not changed all that much!

I too have been thinking about full body MRI and as I' m only year out from invasive lobular breast cancer and since very dense breasts at 58 yrs, I'm hoping to get alternating MRI/Mammo - every 6 months but will also look into this....again all we have is early detection. Not sure why so many docs reluctant - so what if you chase a few things! It's your body!

I absolutely agree with you. My daughter who is only 38 has very dense breast. Mammogram ultrasound every year. She is now demanding some fast MRI but has to pay out-of-pocket. Thank God I guess we have to be our own advocates! Best of luck to you 🤗

Not sure how this relates to Osteoporosis, but I had the test done through a clinical trial named Pathfinder 2. I think it's still running, here is a link https://joinpathfinder2study.com/ . It was free through the trial and luckily, one of the locations was at my local hospital.

I did ask the nurse about the results they were getting and she said most were coming back negative. Mine came back negative. For other reasons, I did get a PET scan a few months later and it did not show any cancer. Just one data point.

I already have my scan scheduled for August a year from the last one. I think I dodged a bullet getting that test. I am happy. Your brother is getting treatment now.💙

Hi @sirene - The list of study qualifications is listed on the site where you sign up. They do have a laundry list but nothing stands out as very restricting.
