Great work! Keep it going. You’ll feel much better.
I think it depends on the 90-year-old, but if she's handling it okay, I'd say it's marvelous!
Safer than walking outdoors in the rain, and if you take the basic precautions of managing speed, etc., I don't see any reason not to.
Thank you
I agree with Scott. There are 90 year-olds and there are 90 year-olds. Essentially, anything you can do to keep muscle mass, to keep your lungs clear, to keep your heart strong, to retain your vestibular system functioning well (your balancing system), will be good for both your body and your mind. If you could manage it outdoors safely, to the point where you can do it and enjoy it, it would be even better for your senses and your mood, also important. While some are unsteady and would need a walker, if they can still shuffle outside and get some fresh air, and not exhaust themselves, it's great and I would heartily encourage it. If you don't need those aids, more power to you. But do go. My 94 year old dad, with a new aortic valve, two hips in the past seven years, and a bypass of his right carotid that was determined to be 100% blocked when they imaged him, is still climbing stairs, and walking 2-4 km each day, outdoors when he can. He needs to be able to steady himself on a post or pole now and then, but he's out there, even in the rain. Just wear good footwear.
Good luck to you!
That sounds great but perhaps a recumbent bike might be a bit safer...good luck !
