Do vaccines like MMR or TB tests affect Bone Marrow Biopsy findings?

That would be a question for the hematologist/oncologist. Can you receive the vaccine(s) after the biopsy since it is only two weeks?

My platelets were normal until I started the Covid vaccines. I have talked with my oncologist and an MPN Specialist at a major research center. They do not think there is a connection, but I still wonder. I would like to know how to report this suspicion. I tried to share at the CDC website to no avail. Please send along suggestions for reporting. Has anyone else seen an increase in platelets after Covid shots? I've had all of the shots including Fall 2023, when it was followed by another platelet jump this spring. I am not doing the next Covid shot recommended last month for 65+. I also have the Jak2 mutation. I take HU 4x week, 500 mg each. I came to ET with no symptoms; just high platelets noted at my yearly physical.

So many things can increase your platelets. Most often an underlying infection or inflammation. I think assuming it was from the vaccine might be for first thought, but how often did you get your blood taken before and after and is their any correlation? Make sure you see a specialist so they run all the correct tests so you can be treated and medicated properly. Good luck!

my plt also started increasing with covid vaccines . I have had bone marrow biopsy, JAK2 mutation...first year and half ran between 400-600. They are now 702 . all I have taken so far is 2 baby aspirin a day. Now I started on HU 500 daily is what I was told to take, but I am only doing every other day...blood work in 2 wk to see effect... I wonder if vaccine started this, but we will never know..I also became older at same time ha! it is always to distinguish things at age 71 age or disease? who knows I have never been 71 before ? I am active and vegetarian . take it day by day stress doesn't help

Everything about my blood work went Ugly after my 4th Covid vaccine. About a month after my last injection for Covid 19, my bloodwork was showing broad spectrum autoimmune issues-and my rheumatologist diagnosed Rheumatoid arthritis. The first injection was in 02/21- the 4th in 10/22.
I came down with Covid in Feb of 2024 and my lungs have still not recovered . I’m suddenly iron deficient anemic - jUST diagnosed with glaucoma, so many individual issues I can’t believe it. Going for a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow as hematologist/oncologist suspects multiple myeloma.

I AM SURE THIS IS ALL RELATED TO THE COVID VACCINES. There are studies underway in many countries and I am anxious to hear the outcomes. Like all “funded studies” - it will take a long while to hear the results.

My second shingles shot lowered my platelets precipitously a week later. Dr got worried did multiple blood tests every few weeks, until my platelets leveled out. Found research on Google Scholar that shingles shot has that effect.
