I had a lumptecomy over 6 months ago. I have pre cancer cells. I'm 32. And I'm still having pain. Is this normal??

Hi
Yes, I start radiation mar 15 until 28th, 10 treatments. They gave me the choice of doing 4 weeks or two weeks at Double radiation so I decided two weeks.
Hi
Wow, that is good news to hear that it's 25 years later and no reoccurrence. Can you tell me how you did on the tamoxifen although I am 65 I can't take the AIS so the tamoxifen is what my oncologist has discussed but I'm not at that point I'm just starting radiation and I only have to have 10 treatments but a double dose during those treatments. Thank you for sharing your story it gives a lot of people hope
In 1999 I was premenopausal so tamoxifen put me in menopause. I also had rolling hot flashes meaning I could feel them coming like a wave. They were intense. I also had bone pain, I would compare to intense arthritis. They both subsided. There was not a lot known about Tamoxifen or its side effects so there was not a lot of first hand accounts. I joined a Breast Cancer Support Group and in that group was the best information. I suggest joining a group ( or start one) to everyone. I also would have done any treatment my Doctor threw at me. My Mother died in 1969 of BC. Trust your Doctor the medical community knows a lot more now.
My mri shows something idk what no one will speak to me yet. But they want me to have another mammogram and a ultrasound.... this is my 1st 6month mri... I'm scared I have cancer...
I know this is a very hard time, most of us have been exactly where you are. This is not as common with patient portals but still happens. This time lapse between test and results can be exhausting. They even have a name for it.
Try to breathe, and remember, findings can take time to gather all the information. 💕
I would rather my doctor order a retake or a new test and be sure. Then I am more confident if he says it is not there and you are fine, or if he says they found something but caught it precancerous or early cancer.
You had some form of pre cancer 6 months ago correct, are you confident in that diagnosis? Was this LCIS or DCIS, what was the journey to find that?
I just had precancerous cells. Atpical bleeding from my nipple brought me to where I am.
Is it required to make a post mammogram after lumptecomy? My mri is incomplete because of it. But they are hinting something was found.
I had a mammogram right after lumpectomy. I was told this would now be the baseline mammogram for comparison in case there were any future changes or growths.
Precancerous means you did not have invasive cancer… right? I had a lumpectomy 8 months ago for invasive mixed ductal and lobular cancer. Followed by 20 rounds of radiation. Statge 1 a. I still have shooting and stinging pains but they are becoming less frequent. I called my surgeon to ask if this was normal. She assured me it was quite common. I will have an annual diagnostic mammogram in May that will check both breasts for cancer. That is the best I can do for now. The thought of a recurrence fills our head with fear and anxiety. Meditate and distract yourself from the fear with things that make you happy. Hope this helps and if your gut tells you something else call your doctor for a checkup. You are young and we respond to surgery differently. We have to advocate for ourselves and be vigilant.
