2000 calories a day diet with carbs: Got a meal plan to share?

Posted by jp2175 @jp2175, Mar 9 4:33pm

I started the 2000 day diet with carbs. Does anyone have a nice menu plan they would like to share?
Thanks!

JP, how are you doing with calorie monitoring? What other habits help you stick to your plan?

How strange it is to read this article today. I have an appointment this afternoon with a nutrisionist. I have a lot of allergies, including dairy, and cannot eat many foods that are supposed to be good for you. In my case I think my biggest problem is portion control. I will only have one appointment with this person and it is 1-1/2 hours. I hope I can find this post again so I can share what I hopefully will learn about my eating habits.

I have to admit, I am bad about food logs and counting calories. But dietitians I have spoked to often say it will lead to success.

I found this website called Crossfit that has a good example of a 2000 calorie diet with links to healthy recipes on "EatingWell" website. There are a lot of ads unfortunately, but this meal plans look good.

Interested in any meal plans you have found that are helping?

Here is my report on my appointment with my nutritionist. First of all I made a list of all the vitamin supplements I take. This turned out to be a good thing because I am taking too much Vitamin D. Too much is as bad as too little. We went over many foods and I told him what I will eat and what I will not eat. In the end he said I was doing well. He did not have a problem with my having a large bowl of barley mushroom soup (home made) for breakfast since I do not eat the usual breakfast items. In fact he told me barley is one of the healthiest grains we could consume. The outcome was that my problem is not what I eat but how much I eat. So that is a problem I need to fix by myself.

Thanks for the report back, Marilyn. It sounds like an appointment with a nutritionist was a good "tune-up" to discover what tweaks you can make to both you food intake and vitamin supplements. You are doing great.
PS: I love barley mushroom soup. Today's soup is lentil, which is also yummy.
