@bonitva: Hi Bonnie I'm glad to hear that you have appointments next month. Keep me posted on how it all goes for you. Things are OK with me. I'm having a review of endocrine problems, thyroid nodules, hyper-parathyroid issues, etc. Have lots of blood work and ultra sound as well as bone density coming up next month. It will be good to put those problems to rest when the results come back, that way I can get on with enjoying summer! Best wishes,

Teresa... glad you're getting a review of your issues.
Strange, but I too have thyroid nodules; have them checked for growth annually. Today, I'm seriously considering going back to the ER. Nausea and can't eat. The partial obstruction I had a couple of weeks ago seems to be returning. I don't want to have that naso-gastric tube again... hurts the throat! Also, I fear they may take me into surgery if I go back. But they did tell me not to wait so long that I have that severe pain.

@bonitav. Bonnie: I'm sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time today. Yes, I agree that the NG tube is not a pleasant experience. I hope that you begin to feel better. Keep me posted!

@bonitva Hi Bonnie: I was just noticing that the last time I heard from you was on June 25, and you were not feeling well and considering going to ER. I hope that you are feeling better now. Thanks Teresa. I did go to the ER. The pain began in the wee hours of the morning but I waited for sunrise to go. Was given an IV pain med and admitted. Had a nasogastric tube inserted and my stomach pumped. Was a partial obstruction. Saw the Mayo GI after release and he sent a letter with recommended tests/actions. Will take to my GI at my next appt. I'll probably need another surgery due to the stricture and narrowing near the area where the small bowel resection was performed...years ago. Plus a change in meds due to the Crohns related inflammation. Will probably have another MRI to check the cyst. Oh, well, always something. Plus... almost forgot.. a mild heart murmur was detected and will have an ECG in late July. Hope all is well with you. Sorry I entered too much info! Take care.

Thanks for asking Teresa.. @hopeful33250. I had surgery in November. A section of small bowel, small amount of colon (all for Crohns .. stenosing, stricture, etc.) and gall bladder. Took quite some time to recover totally and not so sure I'm back to previous energy level. Will consult with GI in January to discuss a biologic drug treatment to try to stop the Crohns. Pancreatic cyst remains stable. That exam early next year. I find the surgery left me with some depression, which surprised me. I can cry at the least thing. Did some research and learned that happens with some patients.

@bonitav Hi Bonnie: I'm so glad to hear from you. It does sound as if you had very extensive surgery. Several years ago, I had a resection of the duodenal bulb for a small NET (carcinoid), removal of gall bladder and dealing with scar tissue from a previous surgery. It sounds much like your experience. Yes, it does take time to recover from that extensive of a surgery. I always count on at least 6 months before I expect to feel "somewhat back to normal" and a full year before everything goes back to the way it used to be in terms of energy level, etc. I generally always have anxiety afterwards (I blame it on the anesthesia) and just the shock to my body of being dealt with in such an invasive way, however, that is just my theory and probably would not hold up under scientific scrutiny:)
Thanks for asking about me. Next month, I'll have another EGD to check on the status of the NET (carcinoid) issue that I had surgery for in the spring of this year. I hope that no new cells are found. Best wishes to you in 2017. Let's keep in touch!

Thanks Teresa @hopeful33250 for your input. I feel better knowing my response to such a surgery isn't off the wall. I think I can now just relax about my body/mind reaction and just let it be.
