Have you had COVID by chance? Lots of folks have written in about excessive mucous in the back of their throats & nose after having COVID. Praying for you.

I've had Covid twice and am experiencing the same symptoms.
Ever since I had covid my sinuses over react to any viral or bacterial infection. Absolutely awful post nasal with this thick stuff . it gets really bad sometimes almost chocking e the stuff block your airway and is hard to clear. Irrigation seem to be the best help to get you thru it .
