Hello... I've been researching Infrared therapy for Fibromyalgia pain, immune support, better sleep and other ailments. Has anyone tried this type of therapy?? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts about it.

Interesting. I use an electric blanket in my bed every night to relieve back, hip, and leg pain from my Fibromyalgia. Helps me sleep.

I will be checking into this!

Oh yes, having FM for 45 years I thought I'd tried everything. I went to one bed where I had to kind of half sit up, very uncomfortable. It did help. I went to another where I could lie down and just relax and it worked miracles. It was much too expensive for me though so I could only go a few times. Try it.

I've tried infrared therapy and got little to no relief. It may work great for some people, it just didn't work for me. I have the opposite problem with drugs. I have to take twice what normal people take. My father was very resistant also. I've had FM for 38 years and still battle it everyday. I've tried all the usual drugs with varying degrees of unsuccessful. I waned myself off gabapentin, only to realize that it was indeed helping and went back on it. I do have a few side effects, but it's better than constant pain. I have been denied by 3 different pain clinics, ironically. Because I insisted once that I wasn't in pain. I'm hoping I will be accepted to a study near me., using a neurological stimulator. Never just give up! Keep advocating for yourself.

That’s what Lady Gaga uses I believe

I started going to an infrared sauna 4-5x/week 6 months ago. I am a huge proponent of infrared therapy! There are some days that I hobble into the sauna and am able to walk like a normal person after a 40 min session. I don’t know much about the long-term benefits, but for 12-24 hours, my pain reduces significantly! It also improves my sleep and is like a little spa session, so it helps reduce my stress too. Whenever I can, I try to work my schedule around a sauna session because I feel that much better after!

Hello,
Yes I have had infrared therapy when I have cupping treatments with my Chinese Doctor, he is brilliant, it relaxes my muscles, reduces my pain, symptoms and helps me get some sleep. That's my experience, others may be impacted differently, I am open to more holistic options and exercise.

Hi,
I have had infra red therapy its good for pain relief, muscle relaxation and improved my circulation, also I have dry cupping sessions which affects the deep tissue, that massage doesn't reach, and it relaxes my muscles, especially in my spine and shoulders where the pain can be at its worst, it reduces the symptoms and I get some uninterupted sleep.

Also acupuncture has worked for me, again pain relief, muscles relax, balances my body and makes me feel good. Hydro therapy, I understand some people struggle with exercise but of you don't keep mobile the pain will get worse. I do gentle stretches in and out of my bed, also, have epsom salts baths as the magnesium relaxes the muscles and soothes the pain and I'll put in a few drops of lavendar oil.

It can be hard work to start with but once you build some stratergies into your daily life they really can help, the days when I am really bad I get my son over to run me a bath with epsom salts, I have a bath chair lift and he stays in the house until I have finished to make sure I am safe and ok. But those baths really help relax my muscles and for my body get some sleep when my body has a flare up. Also how is everyone with heat? I have an electric blanket so that is great sometimes when I am having a flare up, I also get muscle spasms and cramps so my electric blanket is great to help relieve those symptoms.
