The Berkman is across street from St Mary's hospital, commercial area but sidewalks. It is close to residential area where can walk.
There is a Patient Shuttle from St Mary's hospital to Mayo's downtown campus.
Rochester does have two dog parks where dogs can run off leash, see https://www.rochestermn.gov/government/departments/parks-recreation-new/dog-parks
There is also a private dog park that you can pay per visit. If think that might be an options, make sure you check the vaccine requirements and bring records.

As you get ready to go to Mayo Clinic, feel free to ask questions about Rochester or Mayo Clinic.
Are there restaurants and dog walking areas close to this Candlewood location?

Candlewood is across the street from Fairgrounds / Sport Compex. Plenty of green space and area to walk dogs. There is a Perkins few blocks away.

Thank you Laurie!
Dog friendly housing options near Mayo in Rochester for 3-4 stay
Hi We are at Rochester Minnesota and my husband is getting a lung transplant tomorrow. I am staying here with our dogs and looking for extended stay in a home with a fenced yard for our dogs. 3-4 months. Any recommendations are appreciated as I'm finding airbnb's may be too costly for this duration. Thank you!

There is a Facebook group called "Ask Rochester + SE MN", you need to join group. Nothing on site is vetted, so be carefull. I know some realtors and landlords monitor discussions. Rent in Rochester is expensive. If you do not have to be physically located in Rochester, you may try few towns within 30 minutes. Stewartville, Byron, Kasson. Oronoco are closest.

A few apartment complexes have shared fenced in dog areas and rent furnished apartments for short term rentals. Not familiar with all of them. Another good question for Ask Rochester.
@bano I like to stay at that Candlewood. They have full kitchens with full size refrigerators so you can prepare your own meals. They don't have a free breakfast like a lot of hotels, but the cost is more reasonable. You may want to call the hotel and ask what is in walking distance. It's on a fairy busy street going into downtown Rochester, so crossing the street on foot may not be so easy. The park with the corn water tower is on the same side of the street close to the hotel. There is a coffee place right across the parking lot (same side of road). The hotel is set back a bit farther from the road. They do have a free shuttle to the Mayo campus and are about a mile away.
Thank you but I need a place that will also accommodate our two big dogs.
