Anyone do chiropractic care after Laminectomy?
I had lumbar Laminectomy 2 yrs ago. I have sever Peripheral Neuropathy, non diabetic. I’m having problems driving regarding numbness in my feet. I sometimes cannot feel the brake peddle so I’ve stopped driving. Cannot seem to find an answer if post Laminectomy chiropractic care would help. Always saw a chiropractor before my surgery, but am not sure if is recommended post surgery.

Asking the surgeon was my next step, but I am confident in the information I learned here. I am going with my first instinct and that was no chiropractor. I am going to try Myofascial Release. 🤞🏻🙏🏻
Best of luck! Let us know. My sister just had that surgery, and if she ends up with the neuropathy it will be nice to have something to offer her!
DO NOT See a CHIRO. The one I saw made my back pain worse.
I have acupuncture appointments 1-2 times a month and it helps so much.
I have always had chiropractor care which worked well for me. After the Laminectomy 2 yrs ago, I didn’t think it was a good idea to continue, but lately, I gave it a second thought because of the numbness in my feet and not being able to drive. Jennifer answered my question in detail and I am going to try Myofascial Release instead of the chiro. Thank you for responding to me.
Please keep me posted on the Myofascial Release. I would like to try it if you have good results. Wishing you the best!
Will do. I can deal with everything but the not driving.
My husband had laminectomy a several years ago. He is seeing an ART chiropractor (active release therapy) and it is helping him. Unfortunately, ours doesn't take medicare so we have to self pay. I have submitted bills to medicare but haven't heard from them yet.
I'm in Canada so as long as the chiropractor is registered to accept payments, I only have to pay the difference. I claim that on my income tax return.
Jennifer, I have an appointment tomorrow, 03/05 for the recommended MFR therapy. I will keep you posted.
I use ice/heat and acupuncture. I haven't tried the others. If I remember, I will use a gel.
Today, I feel great! I shopped at Costco, took Miah for a walk and did some housework yesterday. I was just thinking I am "pain free." My only complaint right is I'm falling asleep in front of the computer!
