I had a ct scan because I had a low grade fever that did not go away for three weeks. This picked up on the cyst and then they did ultrasound. CRP was 51 but this may be due to the fever which had just stopped

i'm sorry. but did you mean the CRP was 51 or 5.1, either way. that's too high. from what i just Googled. from different Orgs.
i understand you had just gotten over a high fever. but that's still too high. what did the doctor say or do for you? d 🏳️‍🌈

I had a simple hepatic cyst (liver) that measured 23cm x 19 cm that was discovered on ultrasound. Like many people who have liver cysts, I was unaware at the time and just thought I was getting fat. It was removed (fenestrated) at the same time as another surgery (gall bladder removal and hysterectomy). My liver surgeon said that they usually will only remove the cyst if it causes pain because there is more risk with surgery than leaving it alone. Therefore, it is safer not to do the surgery if possible. Of course, if the cyst ruptures, you will be in sever pain and should go to the emergency department immediately.
