@lsheerin, It is great to hear that hour husband is into his 4th months since his liver transplant and is adjusting to his new liver an medications while returning to his normal self. You have mentioined that he gets tired. So did I foe many months after my transplant. I was fortunately able to treat myself to a nap every afternoon. Sometimes I slept, and other times I simply rested/relaxed and sorted out in my mind all that I had gone through.
I had a liver and kidney transplant in 2009. To the best of my memory, I had swelling in my ankles for a while, even after the pro/post transplant ascites and edema went away. I also had physical therapy, and remember that I wore support socks for a while, too. I think that you are doing the correct thing to contact his transplant nurse on Monday because it might be time for medication adjustment, or it might be normal at this stage of recovery for him.
One thing that I have noticed over time is that I get swelling if I eat too many salty foods. Is he limiting his salt intake, and avoiding fried foods?

How are you doing now that the stress of the awaiting is past?

First off, congratulations on your 15 year!! That is so awesome. We really do not eat any fried foods to speak of. Once in a while, we may have a little something like an appetizer, but not often. He does not add salt to foods, but he loves his snacks!! I'm not too, too worried about it because it's only his ankles and he feels good, but we still need to check it out.
The stress of waiting was the worst. It felt like torture. Day after day of praying the call would come. We cannot complain, though. From start to finish it was 7 months. He got sick just a year ago now, and October 13th he had the transplant. I know some people go on for years. My heart goes out to them. Thank you for replying.
