I also have very painful mouth sores. My ENT has diagnosed it as Oral Lichen Planus. OLP can be an autoimmune disease or it can be a reaction to meds like Orencia and methotrexate. I am on oral steroids and a topical paste of steroids. It has been 10 days but not much change, especially the pain. Have a March appointment with my rheumatologist to explore the idea of a reaction medication. I am on both the drugs mentioned above plus a permanent antibiotic for previous staph in a hip joint.
@blacksabbath I have lichen planus so have had a sore mouth for years, but about three weeks ago I started Bimzelx injections for my psoriasis, and one of the side of that medication is mouth sores! I am travelling at the moment, so don’t have my Lyderm gel (which I apply in my mouth for lichen planus) with me. In any case, I go in to my dermatologist’s office on March 4 for the second injection so I will tell him about this latest mouth sore.
Has anyone tried low dose naltrexone for dry mouth or oral lichen planus? I know it is useful for a variety of conditions and widely prescribed by functional medicine physicians.

I too get mouth sores on Imuran and I am diagnosed with Sjogrens. I think its the meds but mine is mild.
I would get majic mouthwash rx now and see a dermatologist asap.
Mine is gut-related. When the microbiome is healthy, I do not have a problem. When I do, I use liquid dexamethasone, otherwise known as " the magic mouthwash." Any dentist can prescribe it.
That’s sounds like really positive news for u. I’m off to c a professor who has an especial interest in oral mmp so I’m keen to hear her opinion
What is causing it? Do you know?

@ mandy19. Please let all of us know what the professor has to say! Will you do that?

Of course
Try Magic mouthwash. It really helped me. You need to get a prescription from your doctor.
