Has anyone heard of Wellen Exercise for Osteoporosis & osteopenia?
Has anyone heard of Wellen? It's an exercise program for osteoporosis and osteopenia. I'm not sure what they do because there is no video to show an example.

Are you using Onero online? Do you need to evaluated before starting?
The online course is very different than what would be taught by a certified coach. There is an assessment before you start so you can obtain a baseline - Tandem Walk (for balance), Timed Up and Go, and 5x Sit to Stands. It's $26 a month for the upgraded version which includes recipes (and I think $20 for basic and I'm not sure if it includes recipes). You have to stay at the same level for 3 months before they release the next set of exercises and recipes. I'm not sure how long I'll do it, but wanted to give it a try.
Ok, thanks.
Thanks for the information. I signed up for the trial today and did the first session and am pleased.
I'm not sure if you signed up for Wellen or Onero because of the chronology of this thread.
If Wellen, one thing I learned in this group is that you can adjust the difficulty of each exercise by scrolling down to "modify" for your day's exercise routine.
If you are referring to Onero: Yesterday, I watched a webinar with Belinda Beck, the founder of Onero and she said that the online Onero program was designed for safety, posture and balance. I was hoping it would advance to some weight training , but also understand why it doesn't. I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it at $26 a month (not much by itself, but also have a personal trainer and Wellen).
From what I understand about Onero is that it focuses on weights. Heavier weights that challenge you. BUT....there is only one place that you can take it in person. It's in Somerset, New Jersey. I'm sure you know that it originated in Austrailia and there are plenty of places there to go in person. I don't know about online. I heard that you can't take it online because of the weights. You have to be supervised with in person classes. Would welcome feedback from anyone out there!
Onero does not include weights due to lack of supervision as you noted. There are in-person Onero coaches in NJ, Wisconsin and CA, but wow what an untapped market!!!
I signed up for Wellen. I also work out at my local YMCA.
have you incorporated weight lifting into you YMCA workouts? Thanks.
Yes, usually 3 times a week, I take a cardio/strength class. Unfortunately, the YMCA where I am member does not have any personal trainers with osteoporosis training.
