I totally understand because I experience the same thing. I can fall asleep easily then wake up with pain and that is the end of it. I have found that specific exercises I was given through physical therapy have helped me. When I wake up in the middle of the night I do these stretching exercises and movements and they actually do help me with pain accompanied by sleepiness and I can many times return to bed and sleep the rest of the night. I would suggest going to the web and entering exercises for fibromyalgia pain or something like that and see what you can find. These exercises and stretches help me more than any pain med. I hope you can get help to feel better.

So how does your day go. I fall asleep with no problem then the pain gets to a point that I toss and turn trying to get comfortable. Once I get up I just feel exhausted all day.
