Has anyone heard of Wellen Exercise for Osteoporosis & osteopenia?

Has anyone heard of Wellen? It's an exercise program for osteoporosis and osteopenia. I'm not sure what they do because there is no video to show an example.

I have been doing the Wellen program for a while now..about 5x a week. On the days I don’t do it I do Pilates with a trainer. The Wellen program is fabulous.. easy to commit to and it incorporates exercises that I was told to do by a PT and my orthopedic doctor. You can adjust exercises to easier or harder along the way and they keep in touch with you if you ask questions! After each session you review the lesson. The harder versions add weights… and the tai chi is great for balance. The price is a terrific and on sale it’s even cheaper. Go for it!

I use and like it. It’s not hard so far (I’m on the 7th lesson), but I like the emphasis on form.

I just realized that there is a way for you to modify each individual exercise before each session to easier or harder. Some of the modifications use weights. I really love this program.. I’ve gained strength and balance!

Excellent! I did sign up but now I'm even happier that I did. I d idn't want it to be too easy as I've been lifting all of my life! So thank you for your input. Much appreciated.

I have been doing Wellen since Dec. you can set how many times/week you want to do it & they send you an email telling you your next workout is waiting with a link to it. There’s bridges, planks, push-ups, overhead lifts, bicep curls, tai chi, etc. The trial is a good idea because the workouts are just about identical.

I reached out to them and they said they get more challenging. I think the first set of work outs was 35 and then they add more. how far into are you since you started in December? Thanks.

How do you modify before each session? I haven't discovered that and am very interested!

I’m almost at the end of the 35 sessions.. I think the program adjusts difficulty.. and it might adjust sooner if your feedback is that things are easy. I’m pleased with the program as it’s doable and serves as a basis for the right kinds of exercise.

Before you start a days session scroll down and look at the exercises ( pictures )for that session…to the right it says modify. Click on that and modifications come up. Click on what you want harder or easier and press save. If you’re having a hard time doing this contact them for help as I found it accidentally!

Hi @babs10.
It looks like I am wrong about when I started. It was Jan. I am on day 22 & they are still easy. I’ve had arthritis all over my skeleton & these exercises are certainly helping with that. For me, worth the $.

Re: making it harder, if I mark the day as “too easy” Grace writes me & tells me to add long resistance bands to “update profile.” I don’t have any but may get some.
