It took many months for complete healing. I took various doses of Gabapentin throughout, based on the level of pain. Perhaps the reason that I healed was because my neurologist believed that the damage was actually to the Myelin sheath (the insulation) around the nerves as opposed to the nerves themselves. When I had an EMG test after healing, my nerves were very healthy. I was extremely fortunate to return to normal.
